yea so I know why its on but i need to figure out how to get rid of it. I dont have a cat converter because the header I have replaces it. i have casper's o2 sim hooked up and it is on (indicated by blinking red led). if you are not familiar with caspers o2 sim it connects to both o2 sensors plugs. now i've tried hooking up on o2 sensor and one to the plug vise versa.. nothing.. the only time the led comes on is when both plugs are hooked up.. i have a friend who works at ford. he was able to clear the code but when i started the car again it came back on after a few seconds. i also tried another o2 sim that needs to be wired into the o2 sensor plugs. No i did not cut them i just cut the plastic and slid it back some to connect the sim to the wires.. that didnt work either so i removed that one and put Casper's one back on. i've tried resetting the comp by pulling the fuse and disconnect the battery. i'm all out of ideas..
anybody have a clue?

u hold that trip meter while the key is in on but dont start. u hold it down for like 30 sec and goes away.
but for the check engine light. just goto the dealer if u not worried bout the warrenty if u are then search alot in this site!
Oh, whoops
I did a quick google and the best i could find was to reset the ecu/remove power, then just going to Autozone where they'll clear it for you, in hopes that you buy the part that you need to fix it there.

ok thanks for the info guys but none of that helps. I know what the problem is.. i can't buy a part to fix it. the o2 simulator is supposed to make the ecu think that there is a cat converter. the sim seems to be on but the code is stilling being thrown. i've tried multiple times to clear the code but it keeps coming back.
