the SRS light will not go off after changing my battery on my 01 civic lx. I called 2 dealers and they both said it would be $85 just to connect the computer to the car and then whatever it would take to fix it. Is there a cheaper alternative, like a non dealer honda shop?

Yea all bastards charge that much. A local mechanic who is supposably great at car electronics charges $85 just to run a diagnostics on the car. It's a ripoff yes, but at least you'll (hopefully) know the source of the problem.

Also I personally do not recommend taking it to Honda. My airbag light was on and they said it's the sensor up front, and it was then replaced, light was still on, and they said it's still the sensors. I took it to the guy mentioned above and he pointed out the seatbelt clips needed to be replaced. Wasted money at Honda (

^^yea do that i keep a paper clip in that slider thing next to the E-Brake cuz my SRS light comes on alot. I dont kno why it keeps comin on but i think cuz ppl that ride in my car keep puttin their hands out the window when its down or leaning their arm on the door where the window comes down
