problem with system install

Today i had a headunit installed a amp and sub in my 2004 civic ex auto at a well know (to my area) shop and i was so busy messin with the radio as i left the shop not to notice that my Air Bag light and seat belt light are both on now...they guy installed the amp under the passenger seat so the seat was taken out to do this..What do you guys think could be causing these 2 lights?

They probably unplugged the sensors that were down there and forgot to plug them back in. OR they did plug them back in but they still threw a code that will need to be reset.

If they took your seat out with the battery connected it will do that. Just go back monday...its not gonna cause a problem with the car.

I believe they will have to reset it with a code reader which should be done at the shops expense

Go to tech stuff > DIY's > Electronics > Reset your SRS light

Or, you could follow the link here that I have so graciously provided.

Good job guys, I don't know where you are, but its not even legal in MA to release a car back to a customer with an SRS light on. I find it hard to beleive that yours is the first 04 civic they have done! THe DIY works well, I did it myself. Don't bother buying the harness or whatever, just use a small paper clip, make sure its a small one and it'll actually stick right in the connector.

Sometimes simply disconnecting the battery and re-connecting it after a couple of minutes will also tunr off the lights.

What most likely happened is that they installed the amp and then tested it by turning the key on with the plugs disconnected. The vehicle computer, upon ignition turn on, detected this and illuminated the lights in the dash.

The SRS light isnt helped by that, the error is stored in memory that doesnt erase.
