Question alternator question plaese help

Im installing one 12 inch alpine sub with a 200w mono amp in my civic and I was told that it would be a good idea to juice up my alternator so there wont be any problems. One sub woofer and a 200watt amp doent seem like it would be drawing that much power to me but I was told that the civic only come with alternators that produce around 60 - 70 amps. I would really appreciate your suggestions.

Stock alternator will be just fine for what you're running. Most people here have a sub amp and speaker amp and are running ALOT more wattage than you are.

Someone has been giving you bad information. You will be fine...even if you add a thousand more watts

Well it is only 70 amps but you will be fine. I run 1000 watt amp and many other electrical goodies on my stock alternator and I haven't had any problems so with 200 watts you will be laughing. Always good to upgrade that stock battery though, it totally sucks ***.
