Got new setup, need help wiring?? please!

I got a JL 500/1 and im 2 MTX Thunder 8000 DVC 12" subs. The subs have a 400rms/800max rating.. anyway the MTX diagram says...

With coils AND speakers wired in parallel:

2 dual 4 ohm speakers will present a 1 OHM load

and..

With the coils wired in series and the speakers wired in PARALLEL:

2 Dual 4 ohm speakers will present a 4 ohm load.

Which route should I take? I want to push as close to the 400 RMS for both subs as possible! Thanks!

I believe you'll want 4 ohms, the JL does the same power between 1.5-4 ohms, so 1 ohm might not be the way to go. But, it should get the same power regardless.

Oh really? Wow thanks. So I should wire it the second way.. coils wired in series and the speakers wired in PARALLEL? and i'll get at least 250w x 2 @ 4 ohms??

catalin is an unknown quantity at this point
The best thing to do is get yourself either a 1 ohm capable amplifier or two single 4 ohm woofers. You'll have much greater output this way.

The MTX 8000s ARE 4 ohm woofers. i'll go the 4 ohm way then! cuz JL regulates the voltage it looks like regardless of impendance
