I have been reading posts in this forum for awhile and I am looking to buy an MP3 player, more specifically the Alpine CDA 9831, on becasue it will be easier to see the display in the daytime. But the thing is, doesi t really make a dig difference in the readibility? Alpine is a good quality manufacturer, but if it does not make a difference in readability, should I be shellying out that much money, or should I go with a Panasonic MP3 deck, they have the large displays and look easier to see. But that is just my impression of it in the store. If you guys have any input as to your expereinces, it would be appreciated. I am not going to do any custom work to try and improve the readability, will the Panasonic work in the stock location or will I kick myself for not spending the extra $$??

Any organic-EL type display (I am not sure what the proper term is) apparently doesn't get affected by glare.

If you DO get that deck and you DO get glare and can't read the deck in the sun, then you can easily move the deck to the bottom for the cost of the hardware (probably not much). I have heard simply doing that fixes the problem because it is just on a slightly different angle, and the lower position in the dash helps as well.

The Alpine is a very good deck, as is the Panasonic, but if you are all about your SQ, I say definitely go for the Alpine over the Panasonic
