Bought some ICE, need more opinions...
I just purchased 2 12" Audiobahn AW1208Q Subs (1500 watts rms each), an Audiobahn A2300HCT amp (1200 watts X 2), Audiobahn 3 farad capacitor, and a Ported box. im ordering components soon, and i think im gonna go with the Infinity Reference 6000CS 6-1/2" components in the front, and back. Would these be good components to use? ive heard good things about them, just wondering though. I will be powering them will be an Audiobahn A4075HCT (75 watts X 4). I am mounting the components in the stock door panels, and rear deck. What do you all think?!?!

Infinity reference series are perfect for people who have subs and like mid-bass. Kappas and kappa perfects are focused on highs and have little to none in the mid-bass department.
Nice Head Units:
Alpine CDA-9835
Clarion ProAudio DXZ845MC
Kenwood Excelon KDC-X979
JVC Arsenal KD-AR7000 (their arsenal series doesnt suck like normal JVC)
My favorite right now though is the:
Clarion ProAudio DXZ945MP that MSRP is $699 but you can buy for $450 here . Unless you go DVD thats the best unit. It sounds amazing and has a touchscreen. Plus 5.1 audio is a plus for the future, along with low/high pass filters on preamp outs. lastly, it just is darn impressive. anyone who sees it will be jealous. ive played with them they are solid and the **** feels like its made to take a beating. very very nice unit.

I’m not too sure I was all that impressed with the new Clarion unit. I viewed it unbiased at the audio shop a couple of days ago, and as with all new technologies, I found some bugs that were present in there. The digital Signal Processing was a plus, as well as the ability to tune the audio adjustments. But, in order to do that, you had to navigate through some difficult to navigate windows. I, for one, like to be able to work my unit one handed, and be able to do it without having to look at the unit. With the complexity of some of the navigation aspects, you couldn’t do that. It also felt like you needed two hands to operate it at times. Another aspect I am not too sure about is if you’d actually be able to properly view the unit in our vehicles, with the angle of the dash. I noticed that glare was awful at somewhat of a slight angle. I don’t feel I got it to our dash angle before some of the image was difficult to view. Another quirk I had with it was the limited control of auto-scan. Which, I guess could be coped with. I liked it, sort of, but I don’t know if I’d try it in our cars, cause I’d be kind of ill if I got it, and it was hard to view with our dash. Might require using the Metra kit that filp flops the pocket and the HU. That way, it’d be at less of an angle, and be lower on the dash. Of course, I think that would also require that you iso mount the unit, as I have not used that install kit yet.
I, for one, like ease of navigation that doesn’t require you to look/stare at the unit for extended periods of time. If I were spending up to $600 on a HU, I think I’d have to go with Alpine’s 9835(downside, it uses a lot of power, so you have to use amp wiring kit cause of the V-Drive), or an Eclipse Unit, or maybe the Pioneer 860 or maybe even the 940, and I might also look into a nakamichi unit (very simple units). With the exception of Panasonic’s shotty attempt at it last year, I don’t know if I’ll be convinced on the touch screen HU (other than the in-dash touch screen monitor dvd units).

I'm looking for Alpine9833. I think the price range is perfect to me($330 from ebay). But if you are willing to spend more then go with Clarion 945. ( i don't think you'll need alpine 9835 on ur civic).
oVeraLl I just luv Alpines man... they are awesome

I have the 9835, and it doesnt need an extra wiring kit, thats retarded. And why wouldent you need one on a civic?
Also, anyone that buys that unit and doesnt use an external amp is a moron.

I was originally going to buy the VRX935VD but I hate that every DVD player has a hide-away box. So after some research I wanted the Alpine IVA-D300 cause of its semi-small box. Then I went to a local store to check out some JL subs and saw the 745vd. No hideaway box and the screen is just as nice as the 935vd. Itll be here soon so ill make a review.
Anyway how do you like your 935? How is a DVD player in your car? how many stares do you get? lol just want to know now.
