I won guys!!.....vs the '90 teg
haha whoo hoo! After basically gutting as much of my car out as possible. I went up against my friend's 1990 INtegra GS sedan auto( i have a 2k1 civic ex coupe auto-stock). We were dead even till about mid-third gear and after that my high end took over and i got about 1 car length on him before we slowed down. If you read my other thread i had to figure out a few things overnight to do to my car to get an edge somewhere on the teg. The previous night my other friend with the same car(w/total of 3 people) as i have raced against the teg and lossed easy at the launch.
So here's what i did to prep up my car. First off i took out the spare tire and the floor mat of the trunk, took out the jack, the lil lock that was on the spare, took out the passenger seat, took out the center console, took out the radio. Then i went out an got some Shogun 3point octane booster and threw in about 3 gallons of 91 gas from 76 =) Then i went out and got some dry ice and threw that under my stock airfilter. We both ended up launching perfectly at teh same time and i took him out in the end. =)
Of course he was preppin up his car too before the race, he bought fuel injection cleaner, octane booster also, and changed his spark plugs(which go along with his aftermarket spark plug wires).
My other friend brought his 90 teg LS auto coupe also and wanted to run against me after i beat the other teg. With its homemade cold air intake it got about 1 car length on me easy and i couldnt get any closer.
Just to remind you guys the tegs were running a stock 1.8 Liter DOHC engine against my 1.7 liter SOHC VTEC-E =P

I'm wondering about the dry ice. I think it might have been bad for performance rather than good. Because dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide, which will extinguish flames. So if you have dry ice under your intake its going to start to melt releasing carbon dioxide gas which is going to then be sucked into your intake. This means that you will have less oxygen flowing into your engine and we all know that this is a bad thing. This is just a theory but it sounds like it makes sense to me. What does everyone else think?
