Ok, guys i am hooking up my dvd player and i need to hook the 12v wire to a + & - 12v supply. where is the best place to splice into. I was thinking the cig lighter, but dont know what wire is + and what one is -. Any suggestions or help?

black wire is ground your negative and the other color is your positive, i believe it is yellow. you can verify with a volt meter before you connect anything

Find only the power wire and use the ground bolt located just behind the cigarette lighter as your ground.
