neon test?

Is there any easy way to test a neon tube to make sure it works, like just touch it to the positve, and neg. of a battery?

well if ur neon has that transformer thing then it should be aight. I think? I guess u can test the neon but be sure to put a fuse on it just in case.

you can do that but make sure you have it hooked up to it's transformer!

Ya aren't you only suppose to put it to a 12 volt. Isn't the battery more than that.

no... the battery is what supplies that 12 volts to the car... the battery is exactly 12 volts.

And then it goes to 14 when the car runs. A guy at a audio shop told me that today.

Yeah, just hook it to the battery. Don't touch the circuits in the neon or you'll get shocked like I did.

you could also put it to a 9v battery. but it jsut wont be as bright. it works if you jsut wanna see if it will light
