so is it correct to wire my woofer in parallel. and when i do that, i get 250 watts rms at 2 ohms to each coil? i'm new to dvc's, so i wanna make sure i'm doin things right. so the following diagram is how i need to wire it in parallel, right?
also, in your "expert" opinions, am i doing properly using my available power and properly giving the needed amt of power to my woofer? i think i am...

I don't think you have any way of using all the power the amp is capable of. Your DVC sub is limited to series [8 ohms mono] or parallel [2 ohms mono]. 2 ohms mono is beyond your amp's limits, so you can wither do 8 ohms mono, which should put out about 250 watts at 8 ohms mono, or you can connect each voice coil to each channel, giving each 125 watts each.
The way you suggest might work, but it's also very likely to overheat the amplifier. good luck!

grrr....ok so if thats the case, should i reconsider my amp and for a more powerful one, or should i try to find a single coiled sub that handles 500watts rms (which if anyone has any suggestions, i'd worship you)?
you don't need a single coiled one, a DVC sub with 2 ohm coils would maximize the amp too. or a 2 ohm stable mono amp would work for your current sub.

yes wiring independantly would work. or just wire the coils in series and bridge the amp to 1 channel (this way seems easier to me)
amp + to VC1 +, VC1 - to VC2 +, VC2 - to amp -.
