RF companies cover a broad scale because they know that not everone is a complete, and dedicated audio enthusiast...but they definently disrtibute quality products that can compete with Elite audio companies, but at the same time offer products for the casual consumer and those with not much in their pockets.
They have an excellent business model if you ask me.

Well I guess everyone nowadays hates RF...I personally have liked stuff that i have heard/seen/used that falls under the RF umbrella of companies. If someone gave me RF amps...i would definently give it a try.
I think a lot of negative feelings about RF are based on human nature and not on actual performance/specs/usability...When your on top everyone tries to knock you down. It is the Backpack Rapper/ Mad Rapper mentaility...or the Bubblegum mentality. People want to be different, and pretend like they are not trendy...and by making things that aren't mainstream trendy....another example of this would be ED (which i threw a subliminal jab at earlier in this thread)...go on CarAudioForum and do a search of ED (BTW, Caraudioforum seems to have the largest amount of myopians and bandwangoners on any forum I have ever seen)....hell, you don't even have to do a search, just look on the first page and ED is made out to be the top company that is better then everyone else, but I thought every person has different tastes???!!! So why is everyone recommending EDs to people who are asking for recommendations for diffent types of sounds that they are looking for?? And another reason why I am using ED as my example is because i recently read a review in a magazine by a reviewer who's opinion I respect, and he said that there were problems with the woofer and misleading specs...however, he also said that the company was working on correcting them. Regardless, that is not the woofer i would recomend as the end-all/be-all subwoofer.
So, IMO, the reason why RF is not liked is a sumbliminal reason...not because of performance etc, but because i think people see them as a "sell-out" that every kid has because you can buy there low end stuff at Best Buy. LOL, an 'Audiofile' doesn't want to have the same products that everyother kid in America has in his/her car.
This is all my opinion, but i feel free to eleborate on my opinion because this is an open forum that has always been open to contradicting opinions. i think this whole issue about the views views of certain companies goes far deeper then actual performance (like i said twice already), but that "sell-out" and maintstream mentality...but honestly RF and MTX do what they do better then anyone else when it comes to the bottom line...look at sales and competitions...these things speak for themselves, and this is why RF doesn't need to worry about every **** (I can't believ D!ck was editted out here...what if you name id D!ck
) and Jane who thinks they are an 'audiofile'.
my 2 1/2 cents

i used to want to be different...now i just want product that does the job it says its going to do, does it well and is backed by a company that stands behind its products. i have more respect for a person who runs jensen because they thought it "sounded the best when they listened to the product" over an internet shopper that jumps on a no name company bandwagon to "be different"

there is definitely a few stages in the audio development cycle for most people.
step one: have friend with system. dream of emulating.
step two: go to best buy and get a couple of 12's with a 50W max power amp.
step three: upgrade after about a year or two to something you can feel
step four: rag on anything ever sold by best buy, like you'd never own it
rockford does get a big hit in these forums because they are selling the base stuff at best buy, IMO. theres more out there than the basic stuff. i can't think of any company i'd associate with best buy more than RF.

step 5a: become aware that audio gear is audio gear, no reason to hate, and just go upon your merry way with a satisfying system
or
step 5b: make audio your life, dont hate until youve experienced the product yourself, and constantly change/upgrade your system to try out new and better things
or
step 5c: become an all knowing egotist whos opinions are always right, even if proved wrong
or
step 5d: give up on audio
i think on this site we have people that fall under all those categories, if not a mix.

5e. recommend what you have in your car regardless of what the other person wants to do with their system. also recommend other items based on brand experience (pioneer has good HU's, so their subs must ROCK)

I had (1) 15" RFL powered by a 1000W xtant with 2 auxilary batteries and i hit 150.9 db's and another kid in my class had (2) 15's with 5,000 watts and 16 batteries and he hit 151.2 db's and everybody was like WTF is in ur car. Anyways.....look at JL's, their drivers are designed to perform in small enclosures (1 cu. ft.) and RF's require around 3 cu. ft. That means that u can put 3 JL subs in the same size enclosure as (1) RF sub. Plus RF subs aren't as efficent as other subs. They require more power to get the same sound level compared to a different sub. This means u are able to use a smaller amp to power ur subwoofer.
Now, don't anybody start flaming me and make stupid comments, this is my personal preference and just my 2 cents. Everybody has their own preference of what subs they like and i just don't like RF subs........their amps i like, but not their drivers or their front stage components.
