^ agreed...
you said it urself even, you get what you paid for.
its cheap, the sound will not be top-o-the-line but its all good, you don't need 15x10" woofers to have base, I'm sure those will do. ^_^

u have to remember even high-end audio manufactures make low-end series products. Like MTX has the T4's then the T6's then the best being the T8's. Just cuz they are Rockford doesnt' mean that u will get supreme audio from them. IMHO, Rockford sux......their drivers require huge enclosures, are less efficent which makes them require enromous emounts of power.

It is just funny how these big name companies like RF and MTX constantly get critized, but they constantly have products in the winner's circle...there is a reason why these companies remain big while a lot of these small 'flavor of the week' internet companies go under every other week. Granted marketing has something to do with it, but so does a proper business model, distribution of product, a product with a good reputation amoung the massess, and most importantly...people who buy the products. RF obviously is a company that makes good products in the eyes of many, otherwise they wouldn't be in business.

Now, don't anybody start flaming me and make stupid comments, this is my personal preference and just my 2 cents. Everybody has their own preference of what subs they like and i just don't like RF subs........their amps i like, but not their drivers or their front stage components.

I don't know where you get that RF subs require huge enclosures, because in my opinion it is quite the oppisite.
Here is an example of the box sizes for RF HX2s
As you can see they require a VERY small box according to company specs.

OMG, looks like RF finally got their act together. I just checked out their site and i compared all of their 12" subs and yes, they will work in small enclosures. And their efficency rating isnt' too shabby either......looks like RF is dumping more money into their R & D.....lol
Now all i have to do is hear what they sound like.

just got their act together????....the Punch HX2 hasnt changed in two years...just some backround on me...i worked at MTX from October of 01 to October of 02 when i left to work at Rockford from Oct 02 till Aug of 03...I left both companies on good terms and both companies make awsome products across the board...well the mtx subs were kinda weak...... as far as saying the HE2 sucks.....i was part of a training seminar for Crutchfield and the HE2 will move one inch each way with no mechanical noise..its only rated for half an inch....this was moving free air, with 400 watts at 50hz. its a great woofer for the $79 u can get it for on ebay. If anybody is lucky enuff to hear the Rockford 350Z....it has Punch HE2 12" woofers in it. that link that fonto posted...the power hx2's require the the second largest boxes in RFs lineup
civic01vtec as far as that 150.9 with one RFL, two X1001's and two batteries?? big deal...i did a 150.0 with one Punch HX2 12" and two MTX2300's and one battery...my friend in the same class...152.6 with a Punch HX2 12, four 500.1's and two batteries...not only that...check the DB Drag finals page....i was there in 2002 when RF set 9 records, and the BD1500 was the most represtented amp there....also Wilson Adcock uses RF gear and is number 2 in the sound quality world.
mystic3030 wouldnt be caught dead with RF in yoru car??? those PCE216s that are in your car.....they were developed after RF bought MB Quart....looks like you have a little RF in you car already

However, I think Mystic has PSD 216s, but a good point though.

Mystic, you might have to rephase what you wrote above or change your speakers
BTW, how the hell do you blow PSDs...you must have had atleast twice the recommended wattage and you must be deaf now...you had to have been playing them crazy loud to blow them.
Also, Ludlam, don't you have atleast one product in your car that falls under the Rockford umbrella of corporations?

Their older amps are the only thing they had going for them. Yes they are a quite a bit larger corp then arc audio, focal, oz audio, ect... but you have to ask your self why are these companys still in business? because they sell stuff thats worth it.
Spl has no bounds true audio, spl is basicly a pissing contest between men. SQ is where its at

and in the future: lpg? arc audio? hifonics?
i think i've managed to unconsciously own one single piece of equipment for the who rf world, and funny enough, this piece isnt an amp, a speaker, a radio, a wire, a cap, a battery, a terminal, or anything like that. its a kickpanel =)
so yes, i own one thing from the fosgate corp, and what is it? a hard molded piece of plastic

They have an excellent business model if you ask me.
I have PSD216's...not PCE's. My crossover cooked, not the speakers. I don't hate Rockford as a company, I dislike the "Rockford Fosgate" line of products from what i've seen and heard of them. (as in listened to, not heard about)

I had zero dynomat in my car and I built and installed the box in one nite and basically threw the sub in the car just for the show next day and the sub wasnt' even broken in yet. And i only had (1) xtant amp, not 2. So, with dynomat, a properly designed box and with it fully broken in, i could have been banging 153's with only 1000W and and i only have 1 battery running to my bass amp, i have the other one running to my front stage amp. So, to me that is a big deal. And i didnt' say that RF was crap, i said that it is my personal preference that i don't like their speakers. I know that RF has been know to hit high spl #'s, i just said that i dont' like them, we are not talking about spl here. And u said that their one way xmax is 1 inch, but how linear are they ? I am not starting a flamming contest here, i just merely stated that i dont' like RF. Is is wrong to state what i like and dislike ?

^^^ oh and that was in a 1988 vehicle that had over 200,000 mile on it, so u know that it wasnt' air tight plus with a full interior, so all of seats and padded dash absorbed the sound waves.
Plus my sub is a 4000W sub and i was giving it only 1000W, completey underpowered for spl. It has i forget, either 3in or 3 1/2in excursion and my driver was hardly moving. If i had another 1000W amp to put 1 on each voice coil, the woofer would be moving hardcore. That sub is relentless, MTX has (5) of them in a van with (4) 8100's on each driver and they are banging 174 with it.........one sick woofer IMO.
