i searched a few times and still needhelp..

if i were to install new coxials in the doors...would they only get mid and low frequencies? would the tweeters still work? i remember seeing a wiring diagram of the head unit to the speakers in a stock civic so if someone could post that itd help...

and if i were to put components in....woul the xover only get mid ad low frequencies if i were to use the wires going to the door speaker? or would it be better to tap before under the dash..if i can even find the wire.....lastly..whats the easiest components to use and not have to hack the crap out of the stock tweeter pods..i read about some mb quarts..just wondering what ese

There is no stock crossover, your 6 1/2's get a full range signal, and the tweets also get full range, just the OEM tweeter has a "bassblocker" wired inline with it.

thats good cuz id much rather just get coaxials... can anyone with them tell me if the tweeter still works? id rather have it not work so the speaker can get all the power..if they do still work...whats the best way to stop them...unplug them @ the tweeter? or is there another way

You can definitely just unplug them, however you wont get a power gain to your other speakers by doing it. You will probably not like the sound either, the tweeters in the stock location raise the sound stage up to ear level. Without them you might notice the sound is coming from your feet, and when you have a passenger in the car, their legs will affect the sound stage as well. My advice is to get a set of components and replace your tweets and midrange.

id rather get coaxials but i know ill prolly get components..i had a nice setup in my 00 civic but it was a pain to get the tweeters to fit...im just trying to avoid doing all that again....i had my crossover mounted behind the door then...but im not gonna do that to avoid possible corrosion....how hard is it to run wires from the inside of the car into the door?

just use a coat hanger for the wires, 16 gauge should be fine, they'll fit through the hole on the bottom with all the other wires for your locks, windows, and such
