wiring thru the firewall
ok i ran a wire starting at the trunk towards the engine, when i got to the passenger side I decided to run the wire (4gauge) behind the glove box and thru the same firewall passage that the ECU runs thru. Now there is only 1 rubber stopper there, and it is damn tight. I am scared of 2 things, 1 being any interfence w/ the ECU, and 2 being water issues if it is not totally sealed. I thought running it higher up it would be less likely to get water in that spot.
any thoughts on this?
also where did people mount the fuse in the engine bay at?

i ran my wire through the same hole and havent had any problems for about a year now. i mounted my fuse holder on the fusebox cover, its within the recomended 18 inches from the battery.

i ran mine through the firewall hole as well, and i have had no problem either... its been like this for over a year now... as far as the fuse holder goes, i mounted mine in an unconspicuous(sp?) place under the edge of the lip where the hood joins the fender well area
I finally ran mine this weekend, I ran it through there too and it seems to be fine. I just stuck a pair of needle nose plyers through from the inside to the out and grabbed the 4g power wire from there... seems to be fine. good luck with your install!
I peeled back all the carpeting and drilled right through the firewall. I found a bit that was slightly bigger than the 4 guage wire I had. The wire comes right out into the wheel well on the right side and up to my battery. The wire fits very snug and there has never been a water issue.
