2 questions really... and I'm new to this car stuff.

I have a 2001 Civic EX

1. I'm putting in a KOSS head unit. I'm splicing the wires because nobody around has a harness. I've wired everything properly (I think) to my head unit and it's still not working... Any suggestions on what needs to be rechecked?

2. I did a search... read the posts... and everyone says that it shouldn't be happening.

Well, during my attempt to put in the head unit, my keyless stopped working. What happens is the power locks won't work unless the key is in the on position. If the key is out of on position the power locks don't work and the keyless goes along with that.

Let's just say my car is the only one to have this problem... how would I go about fixing it?

Much obliged

As stupid as this might sound try turning the headunit on. I got a pioneer for my mazda and i thought the damn thing was broke. Then i figured out that you can turn it on and off, so i turned it on.

Thats a good point, when I first installed my Alpine HU, I didn't think it worked after I connected it. I had to turn it on first, but luckily everything went fine.

yup, i thinks its a fuse also... i installed my HU and my friend and i just cut everything... and then the powerlocks only worked when the car was on, the dome lights didnt work and the HU didnt work. I'll go take a picture for you right now and circle the fuse i replaced.

idk if that worked, i hope it did. if not heres the link

anyway, check the fuse circled in white and see if it blew. If it did, replace it with the fuse circled in blue, it's a spare.

I hope that helps!!
