It was time to change the filthy brake fluid in my 06 EX. Here's the project pics with captions. This task is best done with a buddy who can keep the master cylinder filled up while you vacuum plug the old fluid out.



Start with the passenger's side rear wheel, then the driver's side rear wheel, then the passenger's side front wheel and finally the driver's side front wheel. Basically bleeding the system from the farthest point from the master cylinder to the nearest. Use a 10mm wrench.



Front brake bleeding, remove and replace the protective rubber nipple that covers the bleeding valve.



Cleaning the master cylinder, there was a lot of residue in the bottom of the master cylinder so it was sucked up with the vacuum tool from the master cylinder rather than pulling the filth through the whole system in attempt to remove it.



Vacuum tool, cycled this thing at least 100 times to complete the job, it took 2 bottles of Honda DOT 3 Brake Fluid. The cylindrical tube needs to be emptied regularly. There are better automated air or electric powered vacuum pumps that would make this job easier.



Filthy brake fluid extracted, new fluid looks like a Lager Beer, honey colored. Removing each wheel makes the access easier, but this may be possible with out removing the wheels, but I like space when I work on cars.
