you could probibly pass the smog test with a hollow cat or no cat.
I was chatin via AIM with Trashguy and he said that they tested the car with no cat and it would pass. It is possible I guess we do have ULEV Hondas (ultra low emission vehicles).

I had my car inspected recently and they didn't sniff the tailpipe. They just hooked up a harness in the ecu or something.

The guy said the computer will let them know if something is haywire or not. I am thinking that the sim fools the ecu so the inspection computer shouldn't detect anything either.

My car is completely stock but I thought I would throw it out there since others may have the same type of inspection process.

I have a downpipe for sale if anyone wants. I no longer use it because my car just sits in the driveway.

I keep hearing the same thing, that's such a stupid excuse. PAY SOMEBODY EXTRA to pass your smog testing, its not hard, its not rocket science, if you can buy guns and drugs on the street pretty much anywhere, i bet there's people passing SMOG tests f**kin hate n00b comments.

Yes Sir! are you willing to pay that guy extra for me? and while you are at it will you put my stock cat back on every year around july when i get my smog test? will buy and get headers installed if you do all of these for me.

The sim fols the computer therefore the check engine doesn't come on. Also you can get a ODB II code reader via the link below for $50.00

In the car shop manual you can see what the codes mean.

Universal ODB II code reader

How to read the codes

for more on breaking the codes
To plug it in, there should be a grey plugin on the driver side right of the gas pedal.

If you have a sim buy this an test it out. Also it would diagnos problems with your car before going to the shop and getting ripped off.
