I think i'll add my .02 cents to this.. He running straight flowing exhaust... the only restriction is that little bitty resonator towards the back of the car. Of course your gonna get a good jump in power because you got rid of a MAJOR exhaust restriction. How you guys likin that loud "boom" sound periodically while driving? =)
Also i dont want to be annoying but i'm sure wherever you live you are breaking some kinda law by driving without a catalytic converter. If you wanna lead by example... i have a LX. I have an APC ceramic header(made for ex) hooked to Random Tech's Hi Flow Cat with custom 2.25" piping leading to APC Universal exhaust pipe. The sound is great and so is the power.

Damn.. no cat=not legal.. IS this true in all states? I think I am gonna skip all the bolt ons and just get a CAI with 50 shot of nitrous... I only need to go fast when I'm racing.. so.. flip the switch.. instant 170 HP civic for 12 seconds..

Yah it is illegal to not have a cat on cars younger than 30 years old in California.
You can get the "ODB II" cats from many companys that are hi flow and two sensor bungs; however, They aren't legal in California as of yet. So I'm stuck with just an exhaust right now.

big bird to the california emission board!

becareful thought Random Technologys' site states on their site
"Under Federal EPA regulation, replacement of original catalytic converters is allowed only if the original converter(s) is missing, or the vehicle has more than 50,000 miles or is at least five years old and the need for a replacement has been established and documented, or a local inspection program has determined the existing converter is in need of replacement."

So just up your OEM cat and take it to get looked at...j/k
I really don't see why there is such a problem when I doubt anyone would even know unless you told them or got an inspection. In the case of an inspection, put the OEM cat back on which isn't hard at all.
I think I will get the HP w/hi-flow cat. Kamikaze is more for the LX/DX

I am interested in this setup. Did you pass emissions?
Also, does anyone know if the exhaust system can be modified in its entirety, i.e. install a kamikaze header and still retain the original cat? Removal of the cat is such BS, yields like 2 horses or something like that. Totally not worth the noise, the smell, and the failure of emissions, hence a big fine, just for that.

Dude that rocks...
Got a question...I already have a rear section exhaust...if i got the headers, moved the cat where, past the downpipe? and got custom piping to the muffler, how much would that probably run me? I found an OBX hi-flow cat for $54 too
