good info slystad... i think i will go with the champion labs (preferably the cheaper ones such as STP or super tech) filters cuz of this http://www.ntpog.org/reviews/filters/filters.shtml
I use the OEM ones, (Big size, not the wimpy small ones) but I prefer the K & N Gold filters.
They have:
Drilled safety wire holes for racing
Sturdy 1" wrench nut makes removal quick and easy
Metal leaf spring provides a positive seal between element and lid
Heavy-duty construction provides up to 550 PSI hydrostatic burst strength*
Resin-impregnated filter media provides maximum filtering surface for contaminant removal
Inner core provides extra structural support to prevent filter collapse
Anti-drainback valve (where applicable) eliminates dry starts, prevents oil from draining back into crankcase during engine shutdown
Internally lubricated gasket provides positive seal while allowing easy on and off of filter
Rolled threads provide extra protection against stripping

I just bought and installed a Super TECH ST7317. It's a lot taller than the ST6607 and it fits in just fine. It's exactly like the Bosch Premium one for our cars. That Bosch one costs about $6 at Autozone. This one costs $2 at Walmart. IMO it's the exact same filter! What a deal... Thanks again to the person that mentioned Super TECH. This is the filter that I will be using from now on...
Here is the BEST flowing oil filter....why get a tough guard, extra guard, micron filter when your going to change your oil every 3-4k miles.. Get the Best filter for performance!! Go with K&N and full synthetic oil.. BEST combination.
Here is a K&N oil filter for 8.97 free shipping cheapest i found.

Oil filters don't really add horsepower. I'd recommend Mobil One. Take apart any well maintained engine with has used Mobil One and you'll find it looks brand new. Thousands of people and search can't be wrong.

i heard honda uses special fluids to a new car so its better to be broken in..so id better wait until 5000 for first oil change..is that true?

OKay, I checked out that one page and this is what I love the most:
So... That means we don't know anything from these tests. It's not comprehensive enough. I bought the Bosch Premium (SuperTech is the same thing) one 'cause some other site that took apart oil filters said that it had a synthetic filtration medium, solid contruction, and a good amount of filtering material. Plus it's an oversize filter, so it holds more oil than the OEM one. It rocks IMO.
These tests are really great, but what is the ideal filter?
Assuming that the can size is the same, do you want a high flowing, poorer filtering unit or extra restriction and better filtering?
I don't believe these tests are measuring filtering performance, only restriction. Is there a magic filter that has low restriction and great filtering? How will we know?
Keith.
