Dunno about this one...

Hey guys,

I recently talked to a shop in N. Hollywood that are known for engine work (can't remember name right now). But they told me that they can modify our engine (D16? *LX*) and FI with a turbo system and push about 400 HP or a lil more out of it. They said they did a few 7th gens already and said their record is somewhere between 500HP - 600HP. Now I am wondering how that is even possible.

uhh.. that doesnt sound right. what does everyone else think? 500-600hp on a civic?

our engine is d17...and yeah..that doesn't sound right..500-600 hp on a d17....im guessing TONS of internal work

Actually that was my first response. I made sure the guy understood what I was asking. I initially called to see if they do engine swaps. And they said they only do heavy engine modifying. Also they said to pump about 400 HP would be about 10G's. That's pretty hefty. But I have no idea what they do to it.

That is turbo and engine work. Before labor charges.

I would want to see one of the other 7thgens that they worked on and dyno slips.

Maybe they use a 400 shot of nitrous and only get one run per engine.

no way, not even if they ripped apart the whole engine, reinforced EVERYTHING, and pumped up the turbo to 2 bar

How bout that SOHC D15 that that guy Bisi Ezotera (sp*) drives.............it runs like 11's.......i'm sure that thing has got to be pushing upwards of 400 horse.......
