Wait wait, so the reason this is ghetto is cuz if you buy a CAI from a company the pipe keeps the air cooler. Where as that plastic tube doesnt do anything to protect from heat resistance? And it could possibly leak air and not filter some air right? I know there is a reason people dont do this.
This would work even better if you remove the resonator box and put longer flex tube straight to the filter box. Then a K&N drop in stock replacement filter. I had that setup for awhile and it worked great and got better gas mileage on trips.
