if you mean performance response, then no.....cai is much more effective because it draws in colder air than an sri...the density of colder air means better combustion, which equals more hp...for every 10 degrees celsius you remove from your intake temp you get 1 hp....on a 25 degree day you will usually find that your intake temp with an sri is about 120 degrees, because of the heat under your hood....on the same day with a cai your intake air temp should be around 80-90 degrees which equals 3-5 more hp than a sri. on 30+ degree days you will probobly find that you are loosing hp from your stock numbers with an sri because of hotter intake temp, thats why honda puts the stock intake so far from the engine...in my opinion either go with a cai, it's probobly the best bang for the buck of any performance mod...you will see about 2-4 hp at the wheels, all the way through the rpm band....if not, drop in a k&n filter charger, good for about 1-2hp over stock and worry free.....

hey man, i just realized your from scarberia, my brother (97 civic hb) just moved up his cai to an sri for the winter, accordind to him his car feels much better than it had over the past month...what we figure is that in the winter when the intake temp of a cai is super low, it may mess with your computer, which might not understand an intake temperature of 0 degree's celsius, its just a guess.....so summer cai winter sri....easy!!!!!!!!
