high flow cat?
You won't feel anything. there would be more of a difference if you had FI and went from stock to highflow. They will quite down your exhaust alot if you don't have a cat but louder if you have a stock cat. not much of a difference from stock to high flow, At least I didnt' notice barely any.

even with an aftermarket cat back, the catalytic conveter is still the least restrictive part of the exhaust system.

With just a high flow cat, the gains will be minimal because you still have the restriction at the factory exhaust manifold. There's only a minimal amount of power to be gained from the D17 engine, but replace both the header and cat, then you'll feel a difference.
As for the sound.....a high flow cat may make things a bit louder at certain RPMs. The resonator is what quiets things down. Take that off and it will be much louder.
