Turbo mufflers are typically 3" or bigger at the inlet side, so you would need to have an adaptor made to go from your puny stock pipe to the 3" inlet for the muffler.
I would not recommend that you get the full exhaust because 3" piping is just too big for a stock, normally-aspirated 1.7L motor...you would have next to no torque.

I don't see why not...again, just get an adaptor made to mate your stock piping to the bigger inlet of the muffler.

I would like to get a performance muffler too for my stock (except tint)
2002 5 speed LX coupe...I guess it will just give it more sound , that is
it? From what you said , i will just get an adapter to fit that tiny stock piping on my car! I wanted to get a cat-back exaust , but I guess it is useless with the 1.7L engine........

if your exhaust piping is that big, you will have a car that f*cking screams.. the noise will be very loud (i'm just warning you).. your car shouldn't need to breath that much if you don't have a turbo.. why don't you just get the axel back componants and just have the rest custom done in 2.25 or so piping.. just a thought..
