Question: What is this part called

Hello, I'm a new car owner and still don't know what some car parts are called. I'm looking for a part that apparently goes under the whole engine, basically like a platform so that when you look at the engine from the top, you don't see the ground.

Can anyone clarify what you call this?

Probably. Usually.
What we call items (common names) may not be what they are called in a parts catalog.

Got pics?
Got a particular car in mind?

Sorry no pics as I'm looking for it. But it would be for my 2003 Honda Civic LX. It's basically a plastic board that you bolt in under your engine bay, protecting it from debris, and helping with aerodynamics, according to various sources

Also state if it's a coupe or sedan, that makes a difference on a lot of body related stuff.

The underside is 80% open.
Most of the bottom of the engine is exposed underneath, you can see a lot of pavement from above..

If you want to mod it, that's up to you.
