Strut/Tie Bar Questions????

I did a search on this, but I didn't find all that i wanted to know.
What is the difference between all of the types of strut and tie bars: upper front, upper rear, lower tie bar, ect...
I did not list them all b/c I don't know all the types. If someone can fill me in about these and the others that I didn't list, that would be tight.
Thanks.

Basically a tie bar ties together the suspension components on the bottom of the suspension. In the rear it ties together or braces one of the wishbone pivots on each side. Don't know what it braces in front since nobody has one out yet. Although Neuspeed should be coming out with a front tie bar shortly. Now, strut bars brace the strut towers. Struts are the dampening shocks that deaden the bounciness that you get when driving over bumps. The struts attach to the frame and the frame is rather flexible. To stiffen the frame up in that one location you mount a strut bar. That's it. Both tie bars and strut bars are basically meant to stiffen the suspension, so that you get a firmer ride while cornering, turning, and so on...
