they call it back pressure i think. the bigger u go on piping the less u have ....not a good thing. still using the stock cat. plan to get dc header and replace cat unless the make a header with a cat on it already. got a lx therefore cant get one yet DC wise
*sigh* even 2.25 might be big for our cars. Remember guys.. our car is 1.7L and four bangers and a stock engine.. i can see a 2. Even preludes(2.0) will only be good w/ 2.25 and ours is even less than that. I would go into detail why 2.5 wont work.. but too long and hard to find words to explain.
If your just getting the exhaust to sound better and gain some performance without sacrificing drivability, I would get 2.25 in piping, manderal bent of course. I had an apexi N1 full cat-back on my delSol. This is a 2.5 inch system (roughly). The car still drove fine in normal around town driving. It felt slightly sluggish, but hardly noticable. But when your flying around and in V-Tech, the extra bit of breathing really helps. Again, it depends on how you plan on using your car and what you want to get from your exhaust. When I get my exhaust, I'm either going to wait for Apexi to make an N1 system for our cars, or get 2.5 inch piping bent with an N1 muffler. One thing that you should make sure that the piping is manderal bent. That will help the most with exhaust performace. The smother the track inside your exhaust system, the easier it is for your engine to expell the exhaust gas.
