I plan to install a red neon behind my front grill... What do you think of that? The neon would be installed between radiator and metal bumper. I think it's the only way to see only the light, not the neon itself.[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif[/IMG]

It is also illegal (at least in Florida) to have any red non-factory lights on your vehicle.. no blue and no red

Legal jargon: looking directly at the front of your car, the lights either have to be amber or white light.

looking directly at the back of your car, the lights either have to be red or white (reverse) light. any other color is considered illegal and in the state of FLorida windshield wiper squirter LED's have to be either white or amber light, if not it is illegal.
all this is from a cop who pulled me over for all my green lights-got a warning [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-cool.gif[/IMG]

BTW, is it true that your back windshield can be as dark as you want as long as the car has side mirrors??

But it still lights up......My neon tube is Underneath my ca in the front.......by the front axel(?). not in the grill..... no problems yet

The way I want to install it , the neon will light directly in my hood[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/IMG]. Only a glimmer of light will be seen from the front of the vehicule. And what about orange?

if they can see red looking at the front of your car, it's illegal, in any state. but if it's parked, they can't do ****

In California I believe that any neon lighting is illegal regardless of the color.

As far as the guy who asked about tinting the back window: you can take a can of black spraypaint to your rear 3 windows if you want, but your passenger windows and windshield can have no tint (or if the actualy glass itself is tinted, you can have a slight SLIGHT tint on the passenger windows, and a 6 inch windshield banner), at least here in Cali.

u should look into the laws of montreal cuz i highly doubt florida or cali laws will help u out. and i have seent it before i think there are some pictures of a civic with them on purehonda or it might have been in superhonda but i dont remember. it looks really good though how the glow appears from the front of the car. but if u wanna be safe just dont turn them on while the car is moving and u'll be ok. also to jon i have never heard that thing about the 2 mirrors thing but i highly doubt it cuz i think florida law says other wise. jsut do a search on the web for florida law and find out. but i know in jersey it could be as dark as possible but here in florida i think i remember reading that it could only be like 20 % or something.

I suggest investing in a penal code manual. that way you can familiarize yourself with what is and is not legal with vehicles. Also if a cop pulls you over you can and cites you, you can ask where the law is within the penal code system.

i did put my neon for 6 months.. is green colour.....i still remember the first day i install it....i was scare like hell when the police passed by....i drove slowly.......he look at me and smile and he drove away........i met lots of police but they dont really care about the neon light!!! heehhehe...
maybe me living in different state...thats why...
