Metal shifter cable bushings
Found this site that has metal bushings to replace the rubber ones at the end of the shifter cable. But they do not have ones for the 7th gen. Any one know if they exist some where else? Have them? Know if they work? Here is the link.

I am not talking about the ones that go between the shifter and the floor. I am talking about the ones were the cables attach to the transmission. I already have a set between my revo and the floor.

He's talking about these ones:

That go on the transmission, here:

Installation instruction: http://www.corep3.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=4539
I wonder if the ones for the RSX or the EP3 could fit...

I was sort of leaning towards that thought as well but not willing to fork out the money to find out. Also if some one has tried them, even if they were on a different vehicle, would like to know if they help any. Spent too much money on things just to find they do not do anything. Redviking thanks for the pics.

I checked on Hondaautomotiveparts, and it looks like the one for the EP3 should fit (I guees RSX also then...). BUT, there is no "bushing" listed, they seem to be part of the cable (which are indeed different). However the washers that go over them are the same part#, so there is good chances that it will fit.

But it is supposed to remove the excessive play caused by rubber bushing. By using metal bushing you "may" have a more solid shifting... but is it true?
I guess it's like for the under shifter metal bushing. Some people like it, other didn't even noticed it... I personnaly love them! So I guess I'll like these one too!

Next time you end up in the red,
dont make a thread about it, make a new user name
It's been so long since I've done anything for the car, looks like I need to drum up the $30 and try this out. I too love the shifter base bushings, so this should make it even better.

Ok I am forking out the $30. I am going to get the ones listed for the si. I will let you know if they fit when they come in. I just hope I do not ruin the originals just to find out they do not fit. Will probably eyeball it first before destroying anything.

Parts in today. Easy install. The long needle nose pliers were perfect. Bushings came out easy. New bushings were perfect. Would have taken longer if I had a stock airbox but cold air comes off easy. The part that took the longest was taking the 3 bolts out that hold the calbes to the transmission. Taking it for a drive will let you know my opinion.
Update: Well it is not as squishy as before. Drove for awhile in town with stops and starts. Tried to be rough with it getting on and off the highway. No grinding. Actually goes into 1 and 2 better, in my opinion. That is where I end up grinding when I am in a hurry.
