Sorry, I hit enter too quick.

My question is that I want to purchase an Apexi N1 muffler and just have it welded on to the factory piping on the car. I was just wondering if you guys think that is a good idea? Will it sound good, and will I get any sort of performance gains that way?
I don't know if this has been asked before, but if it has, if you could direct me in that direction.
Thanks

- u won't get any performance, u don't usually from any universal mufflers.
- if u do weld it on, ask them to remove the resonator (the 2nd muffler) and replace it with a pipe, the sound should be louder with the resonator off.

that applies only if you use the stock pipes.universal systems with custom pipings are just as good as cat-back systems. you might as well get 2.25" pipes to go with your muffler. you won't be disappointed with the apex'i

Take it from experience. I had an Apexi N1 universal welded on. Then I left the shop and tried it out. absolutely no sound at all over stock. I then had the resonator taken off. It sounded ok at low RPMs but as they rose it had a high pitched lawnmower sound. I ended up selling the muffler and getting the Magnaflow catback. Shoulda done that from the beginning. $215 for muffler plus all the installs when the Magnaflow catback was $300 shipped.

i just got mine welded on two days ago. custom pipings from the cat. i feel my RMPs climb faster...more pull. as for the sound? it IS a little high pitch. but when my friend drove it around the block for me its not that loud and annoying (i think). overall i give it a 8 out of 10.

I would highly recommend getting a 2.25" catback with a straight through resonator, otherwise it'll sound too buzzy.
