Shift **** question.

Hey! After doing some searching, I have some questions that went unanswered.

Car: '05 EX M/T Sedan.

I'm looking for a replacement shift ****. Leather, maybe some silver trim, and something shorter than the stock one. I'm not looking for anything flashy, just shorter and matching the other silver accents in the interrior.

I'm not ready to do a short shift adapter kit yet, but I'd like a **** that's smaller.

I'm thinking the RSX ****, but would like some other options. How much shorter is the RSX **** than the stock Civic ****?

Thanks!

Are you looking at the RSX, or the RSX-S? The RSX is very similar to ours, but about 1/2 inch shorter, i'd say. The RSX-S is a silver metal bulbous thing. I have the RSX ****. It's a good ****, especially since you can get it off of RSX forums for around $10. If I do it over again, I would get a heavy aftermarket ****. A heavy **** really helps with precision shifts, and the RSX **** is about the same weight as stock.

I used to have a Civic Si ****, that was leather. It looked almost stock, but it may have been slightly shorter. I had a Skunk2 weighted shift on for a short while before I installed the Revo short shifter.... with the weighted ****, I should pretty much shift gears with 2 fingers.... if you do decide to get a short shifter, a weighted **** would be a great addition.

I have the aluminum RSX ****. Its great. However you will have to remove your centre console to install it because it comes with a different ring/clip setup than the stock ****.

There's about a billion leather/metal ***** out there, in every shape you can think of. The new Accord ****, the RSX one isn't metal (the optional one is), you can use an S2K **** if you don't mind the fact it has a 6speed pattern on it, ummm... about 10 Momo *****, sparco *****, I'm sure theres others. Just shop around until you see something you like. Thats the easiest way. I've been through 4 of them, I finally found something comfy in the Spoon Titanium one. Its a little egg shaped thing. Fits in the hand nicely and its probably the lightest thing you can get (16 g). The whole thing about heavy ***** helping shifts... I don't buy into it. I've had heavy ones, and I actually prefer the lightweight one. It may shift harder, but you can't feel anything. Lightweight puts the feel back into it. Just my 3 cents

Thanks for the input... Of all the ***** I seem to find, most of them are really cheesy looking, or totally futuristic... I just want a nice simple low rise, threaded (non momo set screw) shift ****...

I've been through most of the common big aftermarket websites, and ebay... still haven't really found anything worth my time...
