hood locks
Hey guys, i'm getting an alarm system installed soon, and I was wondering where to get hood locks for the hood so i don't get my **** jacked again, in case the thieves wanna just cut my alarm.
i'm taking it one small preventive step at a time. starting with these hood locks...
all help appreciated!

Talk to a DEI dealer and ask them to special order it as it's not usually something anyone carries. I forget, but it may be on DEI's website too, from there get the part# and take it to anyone who carries DEI products and get it ordered. There are also a few places online that have them, don't remember specifics though.

All of the hood locks I've seen are crap. I had a crimestopper one on my car for a while - it never really worked right though. It was a solenoid activiated one, which I hooked up to the aux output of the alarm. It was cool, but it never really actuated properly. The only real hood lock is a chain type device that will physically wrap around something on the hood and prevent people from opening it (sort of like a bicycle lock)....

It is a solenoid device, actuated by the car alarm aux output. It won't allow the hood to open unless its energized.....

i don't get it fom that pic, does the selenoid device actually stick through the hood, and lock it? so when its tampered with, the alarm goes off? or is it just a sensor that detects whether ur hood is being messed with?
