have a best buy near you ? or you can look for kits that are on e-bay for the remote start option ... sometimes you will have to use two seperate remotes to utilize this option unless its a complete aftermarket alarm/remote start system
look man, http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=14934
i think im gonna get one too, but i want one that rev's the car when you push the button. My friend with a indy corvette had this one. I think its a viper remote start?

so when u get in ur car, is ur clutch pedal pushed in for you while its running or do you have to leave ur car in neutral? sorry for asking all these questions im just really curious how these work.
The best on the market, pretty much, is the Compustar 2WSSR .. it has a range of up to a mile+
Plus it has a sweet LCD remote that tells you everything going on with your car. I had mine installed last weekend (after my car was broken into about 2 weeks before, and my stereo stolen)
I would have to say if you've got the money, this is the best way to go ...

I didn't know that you could have a remote starter for our 7thgen civics...man I went to a stero shop and they said it is impossible to have one for the newer civics.... a bunch of lazy bums and about the Compustar 2WSSR that is a good alarm, it even has a touch pad that you can install on your windshield and when your friend sees your car all he does is push the pad and it pages you to let you know that some is waiting for you at your car pretty cool

The best alarm is worthless if it isn't installed properly, so I may have paid a little more that other places, but when I asked around the guy who installed mine was the most highly recommended. I figure a good install is worth the extra cost. Plus it has a lifetime guarantee, and if I switch cars I can have the alarm moved to another vehicle and maintain the same warranty, if I have the same place do it again. So all I ever need to worry about is replacing the remote, if it ever breaks, or the battery in the remote.
And the remote isn't a touch screen, it just has an LCD display to show what the status of your car is - if the engine's running, alarm is sounding, locked or un-locked, door open, trunk popped, all kinds of cool stuff ..

That looks kinda ghetto - plus it only has a 6 month warranty
Plus, where would you get it installed at? I'm sure there's places that would do it, but I dunno about something like that ..

SInce the shop you went to did not know that then I don't think they have a MECP sertified installer anywhere .
