Speakers, replacement, 2008 EX Cpe.
2008 Coupe EX... (Premium Sound system no Navi), WTB - Replacement Speakers.
This is an age old subject, for a 12 year old car... and things change over time, mainly many speaker recommendations are outdated and unavailable today.
Been wandering thru the net, reading and watching youtube videos, trying to figure out what speakers to replace the factory speakers, not to break the bank, and no desire at this time to add additional Amp. or Sub. just a simple replace what's broke. The car has Tweeters in dash, 6.5" door and rear deck speakers, plus the factory sub. Have seen many post on the subject, many confusing and most old.
My understanding is the Honda factory Premium Sound System HU + Amp, (without optional navigation), has internal crossover for the tweeters in the dash, and simple one-way 6.5" speakers in the doors and rear deck, plus an 8" Sub in rear deck.. HU mounted in the dash and the amp. mounted under the console forward of the shifter.
The HU is a pre-amp out only, amplified and internally crossed ove in the Amp itself.
HU made by Clarion
Amp made by Pioneer
All Speakers made by Pioneer
I see many suggestions, (even on Crutchfield), to use coaxial speakers in the doors and rear deck. It seems that using coaxial speakers is a waste as the high frequencies would not even reach the door speakers.
Are there any current thoughts, and/or, recommendations for a simple speaker replacement of the tweeters, door, and rear deck speakers ?

Re: Speakers, replacement, 2008 EX Cpe.
Does anyone have opinions about Polk 6502 Component speaker set, or other similar options.
'08 Civic EX Coupe I listen mostly to rock of the 60's & 70's, along with some blues that lead to the rock explosion.
Need, to replace the fragged worn out front speakers, 6.5" Mid/Bass speakers in the door panels and Tweeters in the dash.. Factory speakers/tweeters are 4 ohm Pioneer likely mass produced specifically for Honda, cannot find specs for them, and neither google nor Pioneer have been any help.
The factory system is the Premium Sound system, has Clarion HU with the external amplifier (also Pioneer) that is advertised by Honda to be a 350 Watt system.. Others have posted output to be (RMS) 18-20 watts per channel to the door and rear deck 6.5" speakers, 3 Watts to the 2 dash Tweeters, plus 28 watts to an 8" free-air Sub in the rear deck.
The Amplifier takes 4 channels, balanced differential, as input, and provides 7 separate outputs, including crossover of the tweeters.
Looking at a budget of around $150.00, just a simple 1 for 1 replacement, with perhaps a little better sound.
