Mechanical Problems/Vehicle Issues and Fix-it ForumIf you've got a problem you just can't figure out, a noise you can't diagnose, or a Check Engine Light that won't go away, ask about it here!
I also noted engine oil leaking at the bottom on the transmission side in my 2012 Civic. It was first noted 2 months ago with the LED screen showing engine oil level was low. After adding a quart of oil and driving for ~2 months, the low oil level warning showed up again recently. No oil leaks to the floor where the car is used to be parked. I checked the underneath of the engine and noted the oil tank surface is completely dry (no leaking around the drain plug) while the parts on the transmission side are pretty wet as shown in the red circle of the attached picture. No other problems noted. Could any one help give suggestions on troubleshooting? Thanks. Engine oil leaks to the parts indicated in the red circle.

Hi sdaidoji, H Red circle and arrow indicate leaked oil.
ope all's well with you. Today I replaced the spark plugs because I noted the car hesitate occasionally when accelerating. All 4 spark plugs appeared normally worn out though I'm not so sure (dry, normal color, no oil or debris, clean cylinders). However, I noted leaked oil on the engine outside surface near one spark coil pack (red circle) and between the engine valve cover and the engine body (indicated by red arrow). See the picture attached. Do you think all the leak I described now and earlier is most likely related to the engine valve cover gasket, which should be replaced? Thank you.
