Wink BAD vibration between 28-40 mph

First of all, the transmission is an automatic. When I am maintaining speed of anywhere from 28-40 mph, I get a bad vibration that almost feels like it's coming from the right front. It's so bad that it will vibrate both gas and brake pedals to the point where it actually starts engaging the brakes/gas. It happens ONLY when I have the car in drive. If I put the car in 3rd gear, it never happens. It only seems to do it at around 1700-2000 RPM. When it starts to happen, if you immediately give it more gas, or completely let off the gas, the noise/vibration immediately stops. I first thought it was the motor mounts, and I just replaced the motor mounts yesterday. No fix. I rotated the tires, no fix. The vibration and noise is so loud that you can hear it over music. It basically rattles the whole floor boards.

At this point, I am wondering if it is a problem with the transmission, since it only seems to happen when I have the car in drive. I researched online and it seems to be a frequent problem in 06 civics, but I haven't found anything about it on 05 civics. I am at a rope's end here, and am getting ready to sell the car and get something else. Any help or input is greatly appreciated.
I have a 2010 Honda Civic LX Coupe and it is doing the same exact thing you mentioned after about 28 miles per hour till about 40 miles per hour it does that exact vibrating thing almost like a growling at my feet. At first I was sure that it was the transmission but now I see you guys talking about the same issues . I do have to say I am a bit relieved that it isn't the transmission going out on me but on the other hand I'm worried because I don't know what the hell is going on with my car or how to get it fixed. Please please please help somebody.

Making this it's own thread in the correct generation...

Did you even read that thread? Multiple people said it was a bad axle for them. Visually check the CV joint boots for rips/tears. If you find one the axle should be replaced.

It's your torque converter failing to lock into 4th gear. If you drive in D3 it doesn't happen, right? Do a tranny fluid drain/fill with Honda genuine ATF 3 times at 100 mile intervals, and buy a new crush washer replacement for the 3rd & final drain/fill. This resolved my issue, improper transmission fluid maintenance, the fluid losses it's viscosity & breaks down. Long term neglect will destroy torque converter. What's happening is called "Transmission Shudder". There's plenty of info on it here too. If corrected quick, you may avoid the dreaded P0740 engine code

i would say that the user not even showing that he got interested enough to read through means he is not interested in fixing his issue...
