I was thinking about getting the Progress rear sway bar, but I didn't know the endlinks would broke. I read all 15 pages of this thread...so much info and research. Good job though Grey as always...and always the perfectionist. I hope your wheels aren't bent on that test drive.

So is it possible the reason why the Progress sway bar now includes those locking rings in the middle, is because too many people complained about the broken endlinks. Maybe Hondaluver's endlink broke b/c it pushed the endlink too hard horizontally??? So have any of you broke the endlink with those middle locking rings?

Second question is have any of you broke an endlink with the RSX sway bar? If not, I think I will get a RSX bar instead.

Someone mentioned putting rubber sheeting under the springs to avoid that noise, or maybe just some more grease would help, it's not quite annoying, but after the car sat for a few days and I started driving off for the first time it almost lurched from it's spring position and went "BOING" from all 4 tires instead of the normal "turning boing" of the springs unbinding when I just start up in the mornings... Any thoughts?[B]
Did you install the plastic sleeves that were on the stock springs. You're supposed to transfer those over. They help to reduce noise.

And my stock brake pads are squealing now when I start up, I figured normal, but how exactly do you tell if you should replace them? just looking at them kinda like tread on a tire? they're all stock internals, it's a 2002 SI, only had it for 9 months now, shouldn't have brake pad issues, but better to be safe.
Yeah, basically take a look at them. The meat (the stuff on the pad that gets used up) should stick out above the little metal clip attached to the brake pad. If it does then you're fine and it's just brake dust. If it doesn't, then it's the little metal clip that's scraping.

I think the Progress sway bar has those locking rings merged with the sway bar 'cause it's a simpler design that might cost less to produce and it might also alleviate some problems caused by people not installing those rings properly. I'm just guessing though.

Hmm... That might not be why yours broke then. It seems logical though that without those centering rings the sway bar will exert a sideways force on the endlink. I don't think they're meant to handle forces in that direction... Maybe stock they are, but definately not with an upgrade. I don't know why else it would break? Maybe it's just weak? Maybe some other factor comes into play that Honda didn't think of?

Anyway, I ordered some rod end spacers. I think these will do the trick. No more noise and worries about the high collar washers not doing their job. I will install them as soon as they get here. I think that this is the last update to the design. The prices will go up a little bit. Not $15, but closer to $10. You can still pre-order to save some money.

Hondaluver, so you broke the endlink even though you had the centering rings on. I guess the RSX sway bar and DC tie bar will cause me less trouble with the endlinks i hope.

Unless people on here are breaking endlinks using that setup too???

the progress bar comes with a solid peice of metal for that area. DC sports or neuspeed can't even compeat with the progress "tie plate"

I'm not sure, but I think it'll be either tomorrow or the day after. It's not the high collar washers that I'm waiting for. Those are in the current design. I'm replacing those with some rod end spacers made out of 6061-T6 billet aluminum.

Hondaluver- That's why I wanted the Progress myself, but if it's going to end up costing me around $250 bucks with endlinks, I think I'll go for the more neutral RSX bar. The RSX and DC tie will cost half as much and I don't plan on buying a front sway. No Autocrossing for me.

Sexcivic- How long did you have the rsx sway on for and do you drive hard on it? I just like to corner hard at times, and there are a few potholes and freeway ridges I just can't avoid. Just want to make sure the RSX sway won't cause me any problems with the endlinks.

I have the RSX rear Sway bar and I autocross Very often (As often as possible). No problems So far, But in Hard Right hand corners it (The anit-roll bar) vibrates against my exaust. In normal street driving, not a sound. I'm thingking about Making the RSX bar adjustible and put ig on a stronger setting, thats where the adjustible endlinks come in handy.

How would you do that? Using my endlinks? ??? Can you explain? My endlinks will be height adjustable, but I can't see how this will affect the stiffness of the sway bar...

you can do a lot with a welder.......

All you have to do is weld on a bracket that has Closer mounting holes then the original mounting point. the adjustible endlink will allow me to adjust the length of the endlink to use the new mounting points. Presto! instant adjustible anti-rollbar.

I have added washers and o-rings on the outside to cushion the endlinks and to muffle and noise they might make due to some play in the bushing and housing. I have also added a washer to space the endlink out. Two washers will be used for vehicles that haven't been lowered. One will be used for lowered vehicles. All of this will be in the instructions. There is also a version for the Progress mounting kit (for vehicles not equiped with sway bars).

This design is very sturdy. I have tested it through several thousand miles. Some of these miles were very abusive. For example, I bent a wheel on certain bumps, but the endlinks held up. They were tested with the Progress sway bars, but I'm sure they could handle the stiffer Mugen sway bars for the RSX.

The endlinks are ready for shipment!

I am now taking orders. The good news is that I won't change the price yet. It's still $85 shipped for four endlinks and $50 shipped for two of them. You can PayPal me at: mdobosz@townisp.com, or you can send me a PM if you would like to pay for them some other way.

I will replace any broken part free of charge if the instructions are followed to the letter. The only way I see these breaking is if someone uses them with a thick sway bar that does not have something to guard against movement of the sway bar from side to side. Locking rings are usually supplied with aftermarket sway bars for this purpose. The Progress sway bars have these for example. The newest Progress sway bars have these welded in to the design. I think the thickest sway bar that does not have these is the 2001 and 2002's 25.4mm front sway bar.
