Re: footwell LEDs need help

Dome can be had under the column covers for the key cylinder light used in EX. Wiring should be present on LX.....

DX ??

Tying the 2 separate circuits together.....your on your own.

Re: footwell LEDs need help

Might have to use a relay for the dome light. Not sure how much current the footwell lights will pull. Shouldn't be much if they are true LED.

Parking lights are no problem.

Re: footwell LEDs need help

Relay coils and the PWM used by the dome circuit are not a good mix.

If you put a diode across the coil it will act as a suppressor to prevent it from energizing/un energizing. Also a cap could be used to help maintain the voltage.

nir: As for wire colors, I don't know. My service manuals for 01-03.

Do you have a multimeter? You can use it to find the wire that you need.

Re: footwell LEDs need help

Under column covers, wiring for key light = WHT/BLU (+12 volts) & WHT/BLK (grounding side)

Re: footwell LEDs need help

Well I guess I'll buy some led strip from eBay or auto store.
I've looked on utube someone has posted a video but it was on
09 civic. I have 05 civic so it's not the same wiring.
Has anyone done this on 05 civic??

Yes, I did on my 05. Made my own lighted key cylinder setup, and tapped off of it to run an extra light for the back seat mounted into rear of console.
