2004 Civic DX

So the girlfriend is buying her mothers old civic which is turning into a headache for me. I'll be making a lot of posts with questions I am sure but this one is wiring.

The day time running lights don't come on. The mech her mother took it to said it was a three hundred dollar fix and that is as much info as I can get out of her.

So other than the obvious bulbs and fuses are there any electrical components I need to figure out or is this a grounding issue? Would really appreciate any help in this and all my future questions.

From what I have seen and read, the DRL controller probably needs the components resoldered to the circuit board (mostly just the relays IIRC).
Easy and free fix if you can solder.
