Engine movement
Engine movement
I知 on this forum so much about this car, one thing after the other.
I知 experiencing this issue for awhile now where I can feel the engine move whenever I release the gas pedal and press it again. My mounts are new so no cracks are on them so I don稚 know why I知 having This issue.

Re: Engine movement
Where'd you get the mounts? Are you sure you tightened them properly? Are you sure it's even the engine? Have you actually inspected them or are you just assuming they're fine because they're new?
Re: Engine movement
yes' hey are tight.
Re: Engine movement
Have someone look in the engine bay while you rev it (or vice versa). If the mounts are flexing (which would cause the engine to move like you池e describing), you値l see.
Re: Engine movement
No, it痴 not the mounts. The are not damaged in any way. Now I have a new problem, I changed my pistons rings about 4 moths ago and after I put the engine back together I started to have knocking in the engine. I didn稚 have the time to check to see what痴 the issue but i was assuming it痴 rod knocking. It wasn稚 that bad of a knocking either so I was driving it for awhile until yesterday I checked the connecting rod and they were a loosened. I know that it痴 that I didn稚 torque them down but I may have mistakenly missed Matched the pistons and bearings were all gone to. I got new king bearings from eBay and replaced them, now the same noise still there and it even worse than it was. I realize that pistons are not in the right cylinder as they should. Now I知 thinking of go to the junkyard and get me a bottom half with everything in it because if I just get the pistons with connecting rod it might not make a difference because the pistons might have a little difference in measurement for each block, not sure if I知 right but that痴 my opinion. So what you guys have to say?
Could it also the king bearings are a little thinner than the stock rings or it痴 because I I didn稚 put the pistons back in their original cylinder ? and the connecting rod caps got mixed up as well.
other question, I was trying to get the rod bearings from the dealer and they were asking me what color are they and I couldn稚 answer because I don稚 see any color on the bearings that I took out. Are they color code somewhere on the rods are the rod cap?
Also since I don稚 know the color codes because I might need to take off the oil pan and loosened the pistons to check for color.
since I don稚 know the color code, can we just get one color for all of the connecting rod? I知 assuming that it might work.

Re: Engine movement
I do recall previously suggesting something to the effect of simply selling it and buying a new car because you値l dump too much into this one. Perhaps that痴 now ringing true.
Re: Engine movement
question, I知 getting a engine and transmission D17A2 like mine for $275.00, do I need the ECU from that car or as long as it痴 the same D17A2 manual it should be fine.?

Re: Engine movement
If you have a car between 2001 and 2003, you need one from 2001 to 2003. If you have one from 2004 to 2005, you need one from 2004 to 2005.
The O2 sensors changed so I think it changes the ECU programming slightly. I could be totally wrong, but they're common enough that I wouldn't take the risk.
