Hey, I have a 03 Civic four door EX automatic, with AEM V2 short ram intake, DC headers, and HKS Hi power Ti axle back exhaust system. When I start to accelerate there is no noise, but then around 4,000 RPM I hear this high pitched buzzing sound coming from my exhaust. I don't think its my muffler because its only at that certain RPM level. Also when I am at speed, and then shift, I barely hear the noise. It the loudest when I accelerate from a dead stop. I do know that i have a crack in one of my motor mounts, but I don't believe that that could cause the noise. Any ideas on what might be causing that noise?

r u sure the exhaust is bolted together right? is it hung properly? since it happpens up top in the rpm range when the motor is working the hardest an when its spitting the most exhaust this seems a good place to start. i cant c it being a motor mount since u say u can hear it at the rear of ur car.u may have an exhaust leak as well. lol i have lost track of the noises my civic makes the suspension is so tight that it creacks an vibrates horribly. anyway im betting its ur exhaust. no offense but is it a real hks exhaust. i only ask cuz i have seen some shitty knock off peices that make odd sounds.

Ya im sure that it is a real HKS, but I have been doing some research and DC headers sometimes can create a raspy buzzing sound on some applications. So, what I going to do is put on a Magnaflow resonator and hopefully it will get rid of the noise.
