Re: Ticket... Cops lie...

my dad worked for my counties sheriff dept. (b4 he retired) and they do have quotas to meet at the end of the month (atleast around here they do). but their usually only out giving tickets near the end of the month.

i agree SOME cops are dicks and give bs tickets just bc they can. but most other cops are ok. like when i got a ticket by an unmarked car for doing 80 in a 60, the cop gave me a break and knocked it down to 75. or when i was bringing my bike home from the dealership, and hadnt fixed my tag on it yet, got pulled over and the cop told me, "i understand, so im not ganna give you a hard time". and that was the end. no ticket, nothing.

regardless i respect all cops because they are out there to protect us, and have a high risk job and put their lifes on the line everyday to do their job. like otbexige said cops are the enemy until you need one.

or what gear said, most people who get a ticket, deserve it. i know i did for doing 80 and i admitted i was wrong.

and if i have a problem with a ticket or a cop, ill have my day in court to clear my name. no point in getting into a fight with a cop on the spot, youll either get another ticket or worse. remember the have the law and a nice little gun by their side, lmao.

just my .02

Re: Ticket... Cops lie...

There is good and bad all over. This is true for cops as well. I have been pulled over for my tints by a cop and he basically said I am here just to check everything is legit and up to date and once he seen it he let me go (My tints are 5%) and he was really cool about it all. I got pulled over another time for going through a yellow light. Cop gave me a ticket for going through a red light. It pissed me off because he could have just ticketed me for my tints or something else and I would have been ok with it. He basically lied to get a ticket that wasnt legit when he could have just wrote a legit ticket for tints or something. Things like that bother me alot. But like I said good and bad all over..

My Civic topped out at 170 on a flat road and the pedal on the floor. Western Canada is flat for miles and miles and miles and......zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.......what a boring drive.

So since the law specifies that your tint is illegal and it's the cop's job to pull you over for it....are you expecting him to throw his hat on the ground and shout, "I refuse to do my job!" Dude, if your tint is illegal which it obviously sounds like it is, then:
a) Why the hell would you put it on your car in the first place?
b) Why would you be surprised when you get pulled over for it?
If I climb the Liberty Bell with a rifle, I wouldn't be surprised to have a few cops asking me WTF I'm doing there.

It's also illegal and violates the noise restrictions (as ****ed up as they are) of most neighbourhoods. I don't get why people just want their car to be noisy without any real reason for it, just the fact that it's loud and sounds like ***. I have a question for you........do you ever see anyone over the age of 25 driving around with a huge noisy exhaust tip hanging out from under their car? Anyone over 40? 50? Do you know why? Because at some point you realize how stupid and annoying it is and you're embarrassed to be seen in it.

Wow, this one I'm surprised at but even more excited than the exhaust (which I bet is just a muffler and wouldn't pass inspection). Did he properly retrofit his housings? Is he using proper projectors with a proper cutoff? My guess is no, he cheaped out with a $100 Ebay projector kit and jammed them into his factory housings which BLINDS EVERY OTHER PERSON ON THE ROAD! Have you ever driven towards your friend's car and been able to see **** at night.....or even the day? I see this all the time, these morons strap the shittiest projector setups to their car, there's no cutoff pattern and light just shines every direction so nobody can see ****. This is why the cop pulls him over, because he's doing the rest of the community a favour.

You don't have to. I just outlined how your cars are illegal and would not pass a proper inspection, therefore warranting the cop pulling you over. You could be doing 10 under the speed limit at 10 and 2, it doesn't matter.

Re: Ticket... Cops lie...

You know Ive ran into alot of cops that were pretty cool, and just let me go when my foot was acting as a lead wieght. But! I did run into a salt lake county sherriff the other day that pulled me over on this strip of road called 201. The speed limit used to be 65... Well they decided to go ahead and change it with no notice or signs up yet, and he ticketed me for exactly 10 over. I told him that I didnt know that the speed limit had changed, and that there were no signs, and you know what he told me? He said, and I quote," Ignorance does not give you the right to break the law.", and he handed me my ticket and walked away!

Well, you have a right to take that to court if you are right. While our justice system is seriously flawed, you still have the right to take that cop to court. I would just take several pictures of the signs and then show them to the judge so he/she knows who is right or wrong.

first off you have no idea wat you are talking about beacuse the tint is 30% which is legal and its funny as hell when the police bring the machine out and find that its legal they look like the dumb assh*les that they are. The exhaust is not noisy beacuse he has a World Sport two from Apexi which is just a low tone exhaust not a loud one and its a catback which means he can pass inspectoin becease he didnt need too take off the Catalytic converter. For the HID you don't need to retro fit them if u get a good kit like we do, they look stock but its a light blue 8K look. The light doen't bounce everywhere. If you dont buy the cheap stuff which a lot off them are illegal then your fine but Cop are di*ks anyway. Even if you **** is legal.

SO STOP DEFENDING THEM AND LIKE I SAID BEFORE
F*CK THE POLICE

Re: Ticket... Cops lie...

cops up here all have tint meters, and they keep their mouth shut til they actually measure the darkness, then send you on your way if its legal.

Re: Ticket... Cops lie...

You're lucky, tint on your front 2 windows is illegal in Canada. Half because other drivers can't see you but even if it's clear, it's illegal to have any type of film on there because the window won't shatter properly and will hinder any rescue attempt by keeping the sheet of glass in a single piece.

Re: Ticket... Cops lie...

ya i heard that too, its just another risk. i dont have my windshield tinted so at least they can easily break that and get me out that way lol. dont get me wrong i think tint looks nice but after a while when it fades and gets old it loses its look lol. ill prolly end up taking mine off eventually but im afraid of the defroster lines pulling off. most of my tint is pulling up at the edges and i have scotch tape pieces holding it back on.

Same thing, the windshield is actually 2 pieces of glass with a film in between them. When it breaks it won't shatter, it just falls out as one piece. I think this is designed with the opposite effect in mind, to keep a 100 pound piece of glass from falling on top of the driver. Or to prevent shards from flying everywhere.

What kind of tint did you get? Mine's a metallic tint and came with a lifetime warranty. If it ever fades, peels, even gets a scratch in it, they'll redo it for free. For life.

Yeah i can voucher for that. It takes everything my car has to get to a 100 mph on a flat road LOL, but i have topped it out at like 110-115 somthing like that. I have a 2002 Honda Civic dx coupe with a short ram intake, 5speed. I have only gotten one speeding ticket it in , but i keep getting pulled for my 10k HID's i have installed.
