To add to my list of mysteries surrounding this vehicle, I noticed while I was changing the oil that the master cylinder seems to be leaking into the brake booster. There's oil leaking from where the cylinder and booster mate. Upon removing a vacuum hose there was indeed oil in the lines. What say you?

If this car started leaking oil from the windshield wipers I wouldn't be surprised at this point.

Unbolt the master cylinder from the brake booster and pull it out away from the booster far enough to see in there, see if there is a bunch of fluid inside the booster.

Where did you remove the vacuum hose? If you removed near the engine, it may have residue. (Oily looking residue is normal everywhere in the intake manifold system, that includes vacuum hoses.)
If you removed the hose from the brake booster, it shouldn't have any, but it may after all these years.
If it's soaking wet with brake fluid, see above.
The engine probably would have been hammering and smoking whenever it took a drink of brake fluid.
