A little insight please!

I bought a 93 civic EX. It has D16Z6 stamped on the block but the valve cover dosent say VTEC. That engine does have VTEC dosent it? If it does why dosent my valve cover say so?

I have a 93 civic with the same thing that you said. it most deff has vtec.read the repair manuals or even look up d16z6 on the internet that will tell you all the specs for the stock motor!

Re: A little insight please!

i know alot of people who will change their valve cover just to make people think its not a vtec. i see it as a bait. when u race we always look at the engines first to see if they want to race each other. if u dont see that vtec stamp u might think u have a shot at beating them. it makes the car kind of a sleeper.

No1 ever said the D17 was worth putting parts onto, but some guys are making nearly 400hp out of the 100whp stock motor...

Re: A little insight please!

for future reference besides internals, what should be done to things such as trans or suspension to go with a turbo or supercharger?
