Sponsorship a HOAX?
Sponsorship a HOAX?
Has anyone ever done one of the online car "sponsorship" programs like this http://www.carsponsors.com/application/
I'm broke. My completely stock Civic is ready for new challenges and more speed as I begin showing up to autocross events in my hood. I've heard the sponsor websites prefer stock cars, so I guess I have a couple questions:
1. Are these for real? Do you really get parts sent to your car for riding around in and showing up to events with?
2. Am I better off doing things the old fashion way, saving up, buying used parts, and do everything through blood, sweat, and ebay?
3. And would you be signing up if your 14 year old ride was on its way to retirement if it doesn't become my mod-car.
Thanks and Cheers.

Re: Sponsorship a HOAX?
Blood, sweat, and ebay won't get you anywhere. However, I highly doubt they will sponsor a stock car. You need to make yourself known a little bit first. Drop the ebay part from your hard work and you might get somewhere some day.
Re: Sponsorship a HOAX?
I appreciate it. I knew in my heart it was all a joke. I have my first autocross event this weekend. I'm going in completely stock to see how I can do and then the long process of making upgrades here and there when I can.
Thanks again,
Cheers.
