Newbie engine compatability
Forgive my ignorance. I just recieved a 98 civic EX with an engine that needs replaced(hole in side). I want to replace engine, .I do not want to heavily modify new engine.It has a 5 speed that is in good condition I will use it more for a daily driver. I believe that currently it has the D16y8 in it. I am having a hard time finding one of these at a decent price. I have heard alot about JDM engines. I understand that they are from Japan. I see that generally that have very low miles on them.My question can one of these JDM be changed out directly to current car?Just plug and play?If so what model?What little info I can find would be the D15B. I live in michigan with no car inspections.Also if any one in South East Michigan knows a mechanic that could perform this that would also be greatThanks for the help
