1998 LX (heating up)

Just started today I realized that I saw steam coming out the hood. What can cause that problem? I'm not a tech. But I would like to know exactly what it is. It's a 1998 LX stick. Let me know. I'm planning on taking it to a tech tomorrow or I can check myself if I have valid info. Thanks.

start with thermostat (only use honda oem replacement), then radiator cap, cooling fans, etc. just gotta go one step at a time.
