SOHC - single over-head camshaft
DOHC - double over-head camshaft

First thing to learn is how to search - we usually get the same questions asked "ad nauseum", some in a daily basis (not your case, so so far you OK )

D16Y8 - scroll down until you find your engine

After finding out that you have V-TEC, the natural question that happens every once in 2 weeks or so is "why i can't feel the V-TEC? Is it working?"

Also, pay attention to the "guides for non-flaming" in my signature , be careful on how you ask, or you could end like this guy here. Always check if you taliking to moderators, BTW (self survival)

If you feel like asking how to turbo, be aware that it will be close to 4k to make an engine that will last. follow a must-read if you plan on doing it.

Re: newb with newb Q

DOHC and SOHC just typically means how many overhead camshafts you have in your engine
Single, or dual
