d16y5 help

okay i got a d16y5 motor in a 96 civic ex...i wanted tp know what kind of parts i can add to it for more power...

I was under the impression that the D16Y5 was only found in the HX? Are you sure you don't have a D16Y8? The D16Y5 makes 115 hp while the Y8 makes 127 hp. Both engines are lack-luster... The Y5 is an even more economic Civic engine than the others from the 6th gen.

But, I'm not going to try to discourage you. I haven't ever worked on the Y5 personally. The answers you're going to get are Swap, Turbocharge, or Supercharge.

i looked on the motor and it says that its a d16y5...i think the guy my girl bought it from did a motor swap...i thought that v tech supposed to hit at like 3000 or so rpms...my v tech kicks in at 5500 like a regular v tech.do you know what could cause this...
